Developing a Telehealth Interface in St. Maarten,

Netherlands Antilles

IITD has teamed with regional and international organizations to promote the establishment of a tele-health interface on the Island of St. Maarten as well as a portal for a tele-health hub for the Eastern Caribbean.  The effort seeks to take advantage of recently inaugurated state-of-the art fiber optic submarine cable (the SMPR-1 cable system), and involves hospitals in St. Maarten and Europe, as well as Internet2 and the Center for Augmented Research and Assessment.
