About Us

IITD is a fully qualified tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U. S. Internal Revenue Code.  We promote sustainable Development, and focus on the innovative use of information and communications technologies (ICT) as a key building block in the Development process.  Toward this end, we work in collaborative relationships with partners, often located between the industrialized and developing nation sectors.  We then work to create ICT infrastructures and policies that permit the partners to engage in, for example, distance education, telehealth, the creation of national or regional research networks, specialized legal training programs among practitioners and law schools, data archiving in the mass media sector, specialized skills training in the ICT sector, lifelong learning, and related socio-economic issues.  Particular emphasis is focused on universities, colleges, and specialized training institutions.

IITD is staffed by highly skilled specialists in the areas of community economic development, telecommunications policy, international development, community-based health care delivery systems, and infrastructure development.  We also complement our staff with consultants as circumstances or project activities require.
